Healing Hearts

Empowering Families After Loss

A support program that provides support services, financial resources, and community for families who have lost wives and moms to breast cancer.

Losing a loved one to breast cancer can be an incredibly difficult and emotional journey. We understand the unique challenges faced by both men and children during this time, and our program is designed to offer a supportive and understanding environment. We aim to connect men and children who have experienced the loss of a wife or mother to breast cancer to resources and support services. Through our initiatives, we strive to connect individuals with others who are facing similar situations.

Our peer support groups allow men to connect with fellow bereaved husbands and fathers, while our Children's Bereavement Services focus on providing age-appropriate counseling, art therapy, play therapy, and other activities to help children express their emotions and develop resilience.Additionally, we recognize the important role that fathers play in raising their children after the loss of a partner. Our Fatherhood Support Network offers a platform for connecting with other bereaved fathers, sharing experiences, and receiving guidance on parenting, household management, and emotional well-being. Education is a key component of our program. We provide informative workshops and resources that address topics such as grief, coping strategies, navigating emotions, and self-care for both men and children. By equipping individuals with knowledge and tools, we aim to empower them to effectively navigate their grief journey.

Supporting Families, Navigating Grief Together

How Can We Help?

Financial Support For Minor Children

We offer support to help alleviate the financial strain that grieving families may experience. We raise funds that go directly to assist with childrens medical expenses, childcare expenses, and other financial obligations that may arise as they grow and mature.

Support for Childcare (+Homework Help)

Our support program includes special services for dads.  We know that it takes a village to raise a child. We are happy to become a part of your village. Whether you need time to reset or someone to look after the little ones, our trained volunteers can attend to basic childcare needs for infants and children aged 1-15. Aside from childcare duties, our Hope Hero can also offer academic help so your child completes their assignments and doesn’t miss any submissions.

Grief Counseling

We match you with Individual and group counseling services tailored to meet your unique needs. Trained counselors provide support, validation, and guidance in navigating through the grieving process.

JoAnn's Fund
Financial Support For Minor Children

Honoring the Life and Legacy of JoAnn

JoAnn Maria Burke Hill lost her battle with breast cancer on July 31. 2023. JoAnn was the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone that knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that's all that ever mattered to her.

Loving and outgoing, Joann was genuinely an awesome woman with a larger-than-life personality and light that shined brightly wherever she would go. Her home and heart were often filled and open to those in need. JoAnn was a believer in the power of prayer, community, kindness and humanity. It is with this same heart of kindness that we rally as a community in support of the children that loved her so dearly.

JoAnn's Fund Helps Children in Need
